Kristine is a Licensed Master Social Work cultivates a safe space to explore clients’ narratives from a nonjudgmental and supportive lens. In addition, as a Filipina American, she is deeply committed to supporting people in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community as their lived experiences are uniquely shaped by cultural and intergenerational dynamics. Kristine draws from expertise in palliative care and grief counseling, having worked several years in a hospital with families navigating chronic illness. Using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and meaning-centered psychotherapy, she works with clients to tailor her interventions to their strengths and needs.

“I am particularly interested in working with people in the Filipino or the broader AAPI community who are navigating life transitions as they are uniquely impacted by intergenerational trauma, systemic racism, and/or acculturation. I hope to examine any and challenge concerns such as: destigmatization of mental health, self-esteem, ideas of a “model minority,” and managing complex roles in a family system. I hope my clients and I can co-create goals such as setting and sustaining boundaries, and a developing an improved sense of a strong self-worth. My specialty is to engage in strengths-based narrative therapeutic techniques so that I may learn what is most meaningful to clients. I employ CBT and DBT to challenge thoughts that are no longer serving them. I am also skilled in crisis management and grief counseling, drawing from extensive experience working in a hospital with people navigating chronic illness and end of life.”
